SUPPORT SCIENCE TO SAVE THE LAKE
The Tahoe Environmental Research Center’s (TERC’s) advancements and achievements are possible because a community of philanthropically-minded individuals is committed to making a difference in the future of Lake Tahoe. Their vision and generosity are supporting a world-class center for research and education. Private support is essential to continuing TERC’s groundbreaking work to restore and sustain Lake Tahoe for future generations.
Research and Monitoring
TERC is at the forefront of monitoring and research in the Lake Tahoe Basin and its scientists are internationally recognized for their multi-disciplinary research on lakes and their watersheds. Help fund innovative research on solutions to the challenges facing freshwater ecosystems and ensure that Lake Tahoe’s iconic beauty and ecological health is preserved for future generations.
Student Support
Be a part of preserving Lake Tahoe's iconic beauty for future generations by supporting TERC's scientific research through support of our undergraduate students, graduate students, and post-doctoral researchers. Enable researchers and students to interact with collaborators from around the world and help us educate the next generation of environmental scientists and leaders.
Public Education and Outreach
TERC brings science to life for students, teachers, and visitors each year at two science centers. TERC offers public tours, interactive exhibits, community events, lectures, and education camps for K-12 students and educators. Inspire a love of Lake Tahoe and environmental stewardship by supporting access to TERC's education and outreach programs.
Capital Projects
Capital projects improve TERC’s research and education infrastructure. High priority projects include a new High Speed Electric Research and Teaching Vessel, expanding and maintaining the Lake Tahoe Nearshore Monitoring Network, and expanding and maintaining the Autonomous and Real-time Lake Observatory (ARLO). Capital projects typically utilize a blend of funding sources.
