Helen is part of the chemistry team that works to analyze freshwater lake and stream samples for nutrient content. Most of her tasks are carried out in the lab, but once a month she joins the aquatics field team out on Tahoe to help carry forward the long-standing primary productivity study. Helen came to the Tahoe Environmental Research Center with many years of interdisciplinary research experience--typically around climate adaptation planning. Because her research interests can be vast, she feels that she found her calling by being able to focus on water chemistry while still being a part of many dynamic research projects.
