Event Date
With Brant Allen, UC Davis TERC Field Station Manager/Boat Captain/Lead Research Diver
Allen, long time researcher at Lake Tahoe, will present photos and reminiscences from his three decades of studying Lake Tahoe’s clarity, productivity, and food web changes. Recently, Tahoe’s zooplankton numbers plummeted. These tiny aquatic organisms are an important part of the lake’s food web and help regulate algae concentrations. The decline of a non-native zooplankton, the Mysis shrimp, marks an opportunity to better understand lake clarity. Other changes and interesting phenomena have been witnessed over the years. Join for stunning images and a chance to learn from Brant’s amazing career of scientific investigation at Lake Tahoe.
We are excited to partner with Granlibakken Tahoe in welcoming Robinson to the UC Davis TERC lecture series to be held at Granlibakken in Tahoe City.
