Support TERC Science Education
Kosier-TERC Education Endowment
Tim and Betsy Kosier created the Kosier TERC Education Endowment because they believe education is essential to keeping Lake Tahoe and the surrounding basin vibrant, healthy, and protected for generations to come. To them, stewardship begins with understanding: when people—especially young people—learn what is happening to the lake, they are far more likely to care for it.
A gift to the Kosier TERC Education Endowment is an investment in Tahoe’s future—and in the young people who will protect it.
Tahoe Education & Outreach Support Fund
Gifts to the Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) – Science Education Centers supports the STEM education facilities and programs that TERC has pioneered at Lake Tahoe. The funds help subsidize school trips, allow TERC to continue to provide a high caliber monthly lecture series for the public and they keep exhibit technology current. Special events through the year include Science Expo and the annual Tahoe Federal Summit. TERC’s science programs are assisted by AmeriCorps members, and gifts to this fund help pay for this program.
Tahoe Annual State of the Lake Report Fund
Every year the Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) produces the State of the Lake Report. This highly anticipated synthesis of the long-term data trends observed throughout the lake, together with highlights of recent research is used by the public, by school children and by decision makers to quickly understand the changing nature of Lake Tahoe. Your gift will help support the hundreds of hours that researchers, staff, and students devote to the production of the report annually.
Tahoe Mysis: Community Engagement Fund
Gifts to this fund will support community engagement in the removal of Mysis shrimp to improve clarity, ecosystem health, and build public awareness.
