Charles Goldman Endowed Fund
In honor of Dr. Goldman's 90th birthday, TERC is celebrating his enduring influence and inspiration with the "Thanks a Million" Campaign.
We invite you to join today in honoring Dr. Goldman's lifelong leadership with a gift to the Charles Goldman Endowed Fund, which supports research projects at Lake Tahoe and lakes worldwide, including research done by graduate students. With an initial goal of $1 million, we seek to provide research stipends of $10,000 to over four recipients annually.
Help build a legacy to ensure Lake Tahoe’s health and preservation for generations. Your gift will build toward an endowment that will continue Dr. Charles Goldman’s pioneering work on providing science and informed solutions to sustain the health of Lake Tahoe and other lakes worldwide. Your gift supports in perpetuity student research, through providing scholarships for the best and brightest students, seed funding to ensure they can explore new ideas, and resources to ensure that they can attend essential conferences and workshops.
Tahoe Student Support Fund
As part of a top 10 public research university, some of the brightest minds in freshwater science come to TERC to find solutions to the challenges facing the lake. TERC's graduate students and postdoctoral researchers are making a difference in the lake's long-term health. Many go on to become leaders in academia, industry and government around the world. Provide access to a world-class education for the next generation of scientific leaders by supporting TERC students and post-doctoral scholars.
TERC Internship for Scholars Fund
This fund provides paid internships for high school and undergraduate students for 8-weeks each summer. Having paid internships allows young scholars from all socio-economic backgrounds to participate, and enables the selection process to be based on merit and areas of interest. TERC Internships have a track record of success, with young scholars receiving opportunities that can change the trajectory of their lives. TERC’s internship program would assign the young scholars a summer research mentor, provide them with opportunities for independent research, arrange group meetings with government agencies, and provide a range of professional trainings.
Malyj Manor Fund
This fund has been created in honor of George J. Malyj, TERC’s late, long-time administrator, to provide housing for students working out of Lake Tahoe. The old “Blue House” in Tahoe City has been renovated and renamed “Malyj Manor”. Gifts will be used to maintain and enhance Malyj Manor, and to subsidize the cost to students staying there.
