Bio

Jasmin B.T. McInerney is a Ph.D. Candidate and Autonomous Underwater Glider pilot. She is studying water resources engineering, focusing on physical limnology and oceanography. Her doctoral dissertation is on the movement of sediment in oceans and deep lakes driven by waves propagating across the interface between warm water lying over cold water. She implements autonomous underwater gliders primarily in Lake Tahoe for her research. She has also collaborated on other research projects as a glider pilot in Lake Superior and Antarctica. Jasmin’s excellence in fieldwork-based research has been recently recognized with the Robert L. Wiegel Scholarship for Coastal Studies (2019). Jasmin is actively involved in leadership, service, and outreach roles within the UC Davis campus and the worldwide community of engineers, her work was recognized earlier this year with the Chancellor’s Award for Diversity and Community.
