Julie Critchfield is a graduate student studying civil engineering with a focus in water resources. Julie’s research focuses on the potential contribution of differential cooling to deep mixing and reoxygenation of deep oligotrophic lakes, specifically in Lake Tahoe. The results of this research aims to understand how oxygen is replenished in the deep hypolimnion to better prepare for future climate change challenges of milder winters and warmer lake temperatures.
