Things to do in Spring: March, April, May, June

The transition between winter and spring varies from year to year. Be sure to check real-time conditions at Lake Tahoe so you know what to expect before you come.

Tahoe is often referred to as the spring skiing capital of the world. This is due to the freezing night time temperatures that reset the snow and the morning/afternoon warm atmospheric conditions that result in a magical snow condition known as "corn" snow. As the day continues to warm, it starts to become a little slushy on the mountain which makes it wonderful opportunity to add another activity to your day such as paddleboarding when the water is calm due to the lack of boats on the lake. Or come to the Tahoe Science Center and learn more about this corn snow and how that snowmelt you're seeing is essential for wildfire control in our area.
