Things to do in Fall: September, October, November

Most people don't realize that the waters of Lake Tahoe are best for swimming in early fall. This is because the surface waters are actually at their warmest (check out real-time conditions) and the lake is calmer due to the reduced amount of boat activity.

While there isn't as many fall events as other time of the years, the Tahoe Science Center is open year around and we are happy to take you and your family on a journey exploring Tahoe inside and out.

Other things/events to look forward to in fall:

  • Fall science speaker series
  • Birding
  • Leaf peeping
  • Swimming
  • Paddleboard
  • Hike
  • Kayak
  • Canoe
