Bio
Andrea’s lab uses and develops genetic and genomic tools to answer questions relevant to the management and conservation of fish and wildlife species. Research areas include ecological and conservation genomics, the application of environmental DNA/RNA approaches for biodiversity monitoring, and the development of rapid, field-deployable CRISPR-based assays that enable non-experts to perform genetic testing. Much of her research has been focused on the San Francisco Bay Delta system, but she is excited to join TERC to answer important questions in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
