Brett Poulin

Research in the Poulin Lab focuses on understanding how metal contaminants move through and are transformed in natural and human-influenced environments. We apply environmental chemistry, biogeochemistry, microbiology, and advanced analytical techniques to investigate how environmental change influences metal cycling and exposure. Our research spans freshwater reservoirs and lakes, wetlands, and estuaries and aims to understand how environments are responding to perturbations (e.g., sea-level rise, wildfire, and permafrost thaw) or management actions (e.g., reservoir operations and water or land management).
