Ralph Holman

Ralph is a TERC Fellow and Fulbright PhD student at the University of California, Davis, investigating metals mobilised to Lake Tahoe by wildfires. Ralph holds a Master of Science in Biogeochemistry & Pollutant Dynamics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, where he studied the microbial cycling of phosphate-oxygen isotopes in Arctic soil pore water. Ralph has worked in Contaminated Site and Soil Remediation at WSP and in soil surveys for the Swiss government (WSL). His interest in metals arose while teaching soil science through SIM Zambia, where he witnessed the impacts of unregulated mining activities.
